The Transfiguration.

Next week, you will be reading a special story in your Bibles.  It is called The Transfiguration.

Mark 9:1-13

Jesus took Peter and James and John away from the other disciples by themselves. He led them to the top of a high mountain. Four amazing things happened:

1.       Suddenly Jesus clothes became shining white, whiter than you ever see on earth. 

2.    Two men appeared – Elijah and Moses. They talked with Jesus.

3.    A cloud came over them all and a voice came from the cloud, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.”

4.    The voice stopped and Elijah and Moses disappeared.

See if you can find out what Peter wanted to do on the mountain while Jesus talked with Moses and Elijah.

Did you know that Moses was not allowed into the Promised Land before he died? Jesus brought him into the Promised Land 1,400 years later. Who will bring us into God’s Promised Land?

Who’s voice came from the cloud? What did He say?

There were other people in the Bible who saw the Lord in clothes so bright and shiny that they were frightened to look at Him. Isaiah and Ezekiel were two.
